At Each, we’re looking for someone who brings heart, courage, and a commitment to inclusive care.Be part of a team committed to enhancing social, cultural and emotional wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in Melbourne’s Eastern Region, who present with complex or long-standing mental health issues.As an Aboriginal Health Worker, you will:Collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, using a culturally safe and responsive recovery frameworkWork in partnership with the community, families, and services to identify wellbeing goalsProvide intake, assessment, referrals and psychosocial support for clientsMaintain an active caseload and monitor young people, including follow-up for non-attendanceParticipate in team meetings, clinical reviews, and professional developmentCollaborate to identify and address gaps in service provisionDocument all client contacts and maintain accurate records

About you

To succeed in this role, you will draw on your lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, bringing cultural knowledge and understanding to your work with young people, families, and communities.You will have:Minimum Certificate IV in youth work, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, or a related fieldExperience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a culturally safe and inclusive waySkills to collaborate effectively with young people, families, colleagues, stakeholders, and other service providersKnowledge of risk assessment and safety planning proceduresAbility to integrate knowledge that enhances Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health objectivesAbility to identify gaps in service provision and address needs proactivelyCurrent state-based driver’s licence
