Description:The Entry-Level Desktop Field Engineer is responsible for supporting the establishment, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and upgrades of hardware and computer equipment to ensure the proper functioning of the organization’s enterprise-wide desktop services across various locations. This role provides hands-on and remote assistance in computer setups, upgrades, software installations, and maintenance. Working under close supervision, the Desktop Field Engineer assists in identifying and resolving issues from client support requests, ensuring the highest level of service to clients.Essential Job Functions:Technical Support:Provide first-level technical support to end-users by troubleshooting and resolving desktop-related issues promptly and efficiently.Respond to support requests via phone, email, or in-person, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.Hardware and Software Maintenance:Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and software installations, to ensure optimal performance and security of desktop systems.User Account Management:Set up and configure user accounts, profiles, and permissions.Assist with user onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring access control, data security, and smooth transitions for new and departing users.Security Measures:Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain desktop security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption protocols.Monitor and respond to security alerts, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and prevention of security breaches.Client Interaction:Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, understanding their needs, and addressing their concerns.Educate users on best practices for using desktop systems and software applications.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and maintenance activities.Generate reports on common issues and trends to help improve service delivery and system performance.Field Support:Travel to various locations to provide on-site support for desktop systems and related equipment.Ensure that all fieldwork is completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards.Skills:Desktop, Windows 10, Hardware, Troubleshooting, Imaging, Active directory, Install, Support, Desktop troubleshootingAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Might require some light travel within the Greensboro area to the different Cone affiliates within the city.Benefits:
