Job Title: Field Service TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Field Service Tech is responsible for troubleshooting, coordinating, and repairing customer issues along with other site issues related to various mechanical failures or preventative maintenance efforts with mechanical presses and some electrical components. When not traveling, you will work in the press shop for assembly, building, wiring, or other tasks involving presses to meet project requirements.Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, coordinate, and repair customer and site issues related to mechanical failures.
Perform preventative maintenance efforts.
Use multimeter for electrical readings and troubleshooting.
Work in the press shop when not traveling, focusing on assembly, building, and wiring of presses.
Utilize blueprints to complete mechanical assembly and mechanic-type work with hydraulic systems, bearings, or gearboxes.
Work with hand and power tools for mechanical tasks.
Perform tasks involving hydraulics, pneumatics, gears, bearings, and conveyors.
Check inputs and outputs of PLCs.
Computer usage for documentation and reporting of service work.
Important Skills
Mechanical experience working with large mechanical systems and the installation of mechanical presses or other mechanical systems.
Experience in mechanical assembly with hydraulic systems, bearings, or gearboxes in line with blueprints.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gears, bearings, and conveyors.
Multimeter usage, some electrical troubleshooting and wiring.
Basic PLC troubleshooting.
Computer usage for documentation and reporting of service work.

Electrical wiring of cabinets for controls.

Work hours can range from a straight 40-hour week to up to 55-60 hours during peak seasons.Job Type & LocationThis is a permanent, direct-hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN, but Field Service Techs will travel 50+% of the time after training locally for 3-6 months.Pay: $25-$30/hr, depending on experience, plus per diem while travelingOther Benefits: hotels and travel expenses paid for, company vehicle or rental car provided for travel, company laptop, fuel reimbursement, insurance, and retirement benefitsShift: day shiftsSchedule: Monday-Friday with OT on weekends as neededTravel: train locally for 3-6 months, then travel nationally to customer sites for 2-3 weeks at a time, but come home almost every weekend.
