Description Medical Support Specialist (5-Month Project)Job Profile Summary:The Temporary Medical Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the area clinical team by serving as a proactive resource for members regarding disease prevention and benefit education. This remote position involves conducting educational telephone calls, assessing health needs, and referring members to population health management programs. The specialist will also be responsible for outreach to members with identified gaps in care, motivating compliance, and managing system work queues to facilitate effective intervention.Job Responsibilities:Conduct educational telephone calls to inform members about available benefits, services, and programs.Complete health needs assessments and refer members to population health management programs as appropriate.Reach out to members with identified gaps in care, encouraging and motivating them to become compliant with recommended healthcare measures.Offer assistance to members in locating providers and scheduling appointments for necessary healthcare services.Manage system work queues, screening identified members for eligibility, prior case activities, recent claims, customer service inquiries, and authorization history.Assign members to the clinical team for call outreach and intervention based on the assessment of their healthcare needs.Facilitate research and analysis of inquiries and/or complaints related to processes and designations, member lost incentives, and other program-related inquiries.Work overtime as needed to meet project goals and deadlines.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field preferred.Previous experience in customer service, healthcare navigation, or health insurance administration is highly desirable.Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare billing processes, and insurance coverage principles is advantageous.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex healthcare concepts in a clear and concise manner.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.Proficiency in using computer applications and CRM systems for data entry, documentation, and communication.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements in handling sensitive healthcare information.This is a REMOTE opportunity.
