We depend on the knowledge and skills of our MT’s when it comes to evaluating medical lab tests to determine what’s happening with our patients. Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components
Collect biological specimens from patients
Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis
Enter data from analysis of medical tests or clinical results into computer for storage

Bachelor degree with a major in medical technology or related science, including 12 months internship in an approved hospital program or five years experience as a registered Laboratory Technician with the qualifications to become licensed as an MT by the State of Tennessee.
MT (ASCP) or equivalent. Licensed as a Medical Technologist by the Tennessee State Board of Health. Licensed within 3 months of employment.
