Pharmacy Operations Manager

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Manage the development and implementation of pharmacy benefits, clinical programs, policies and services to support compliance with evidence-based medicine

Administer the day-to-day management of the pharmacy benefit manager, specialty pharmacies, and any other vendors related to Pharmacy Management to identify and address any errors or safety concerns

Partner with all lines of business to ensure pharmacy programs meet contractual obligations and regulatory requirements and ensure vendors are compliant with the standards of NCQA, CMS, URAC, EQRO and other accreditation entities

Collaborate with management to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions for those opportunities while hiring, training, coaching and evaluating performance of staff

Job QualificationsEducation

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience required. Equivalent work experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment.

Experience

5 years of experience in health care industry required with experience in management

Skills/Certifications

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability

Solid analytic skills with ability to understand and interpret data

Excellent problem solving and project management skills

Knowledge of pharmacy management operational and vendor management processes

Demonstrated healthcare and pharmaceutical industry understanding required
