This position is at a metal recycling center. You will be assisting customers with unloading their vehicles and directing them to the correct area to unload while being courteous and providing good customer service; You will sort and handle materials within our warehouse and in our scrap yard; you will be using power tools and machinery (forklift, grinder, drill, etc.); preparing pallets for shipment; cleanup and organize work areas; perform light maintenance on equipment; as needed, weigh customers in and out and write up pay tickets; perform other duties as assigned. This is a physically challenging position, and you will be working inside and outdoors and in all types of weather; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Candidate must be able to read, write, do basic math and speak English. (bilingual a plus); ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds, working outside in all types of weather, etc.); ability to solve problems and discern differences between different types of material; good communication and teamwork skills.
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Additional Information:
work hours are Monday through Friday with some Saturdays required.
pay is based on experience
performance raise after 90 days
