Position Overview
We are seeking a multi-skilled Electrical Controls Engineer or Technician who can take ownership of designing, testing, troubleshooting, and building control systems for our PRT pods and related charging infrastructure. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role ideal for a candidate excited to work at the intersection of electronics, automation, and mobility innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and troubleshoot electrical control systems for our modular transportation pods
- Interpret and modify Relay Logic and PLC Ladder Logic schematics
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Modular Controllers (e.g., Red Lion)
- Wire and integrate electrical panels, switches, sensors, relays, and motor controls
- Support system-level diagnostics using electrical test instrumentation (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Assist with implementation of battery management systems (BMS) and charging interface controls
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electromechanical systems
- Contribute to C firmware development (basic to intermediate level acceptable; willing to learn)
- Document all systems, updates, and procedures clearly for future development phases
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in electrical controls, automation, or mechatronics (technician or engineer level)
- Working knowledge of relay logic, PLC programming, and ladder diagrams
- Experience with Red Lion or similar modular control platforms
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn C programming for embedded systems
- Proficient in control wiring techniques and panel layout best practices
- Comfortable with electrical test tools and structured diagnostics
- Understanding of battery systems, electromechanical actuators, and power distribution
- Ability to work independently in a startup environment with evolving technical requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Controls Automation
- Familiarity with CANbus, DC motor controllers, or solar power systems
- Prior experience in autonomous vehicle systems, electric mobility, or robotics
