Job Title: Data Entry Clerk (experienced)

Job Classification: Hourly / Part time - 16 - 20 hours per week

Job Relationships: Reports to the Financial Controller & serves in a support capacity for the Management Staff and weekly rabies clinics.

Salary: $10.00 per hour.

Work Schedule: Wednesday and Thursday - 9am - 5pm. Additional hours as needed for other programs or special events.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Provide administrative support to McKamey management staff and weekly rabies clinics. Responsible for data entry, general secretarial/clerical duties and "project based" work assignments as received from the Management staff in support of the general operation of the Center. The Data Entry Clerk will project a professional image through phone and in-person interaction and provide assistance to other staff, volunteers or community residents while supporting and implementing the goals, objectives and mission of the Center.

Job duties and other responsibilities:

GENERAL DUTIES:

Quickly learn McKamey programs (i.e. rabies clinic, spay/neuter, adoption, admissions etc.) to allow general support and positive communication of programs as needed while working in the Center or the rabies clinics.

Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to typing, photocopying, faxing, filing & mailing of information as requested.

Answer calls or voicemails (as requested) & communicates Center information.

Assist with the cleanliness, organization & re-stocking of the administrative office and supplies as needed.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Wednesday Rabies Clinics - Set up and assist the Volunteer Coordinator with the weekly clinic.

Hamilton County Rabies Clinic - Assist the Volunteer Coordinator & Financial Controller with the yearly clinics.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education and experience: High School diploma, Associates degree or above. An individual will have an interest in animal care and welfare. Show an energetic, positive and upbeat outlook. Have experience with interaction, communication & customer service with the general public.

Age and License: MUST be at least 21 years of age (required for insurance purposes) and have a valid driver's license with a clear and insurable driving record. Experience driving a large van or truck would be an added benefit.

ïƒ Excellent written and oral communication skills (ability to type 50wpm).

ïƒ Strong computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Publisher, Social Media etc.).

ïƒ Strong organizational skills.

ïƒ Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and ability to carry through projects without close supervision.

ïƒ Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound, informed decisions.

ïƒ Creative, flexible and innovative team player with skills to recognize, enhance and use the diversity of these skills and experiences within the team.

ïƒ Commitment to excellence and high standards required in the center.

ïƒ High-level interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and retain relationships with the diversity of staff, volunteers, members and guests at all levels of the organization

ïƒ Ability to manage priorities and workflow, with strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Work Environment: Office setting, computer use up to 8 hours a day with regular breaks, exposure to high noise levels, zoonotic diseases, and animal bites/scratches when handling animals; exposure to cleaning agents; exposure to all weather conditions when outdoors; bending, reaching, walking up to 8 hours a day.

Physical Activities: Ability to independently lift up to 50 pounds and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance; potential for standing/walking/sitting at a desk for up to ten hours a day; driving an automobile (locally or long distance routes); animal handling/restraint, scrubbing kennels, mopping, assisting with animal intake, physical examinations, vaccinating and/or reclaims.
