General Laborer (Construction)

A General Laborer is an entry-level position that typically involves performing a variety of physical tasks to support operations on construction sites. General Laborer Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Preparation and Clean-up:

- Clean and clear work areas of debris, waste, or hazardous materials.

- Set up and take down scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment for workers.

- Assist in the organization and movement of materials on job sites or within facilities.

2. Material Handling:

- Load, unload, and transport materials (in a company provided vehicle) such as tools, equipment, and building materials.

- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery as required (after proper training).

3. Assisting Skilled Workers:

- Help carpenters, electricians, plumbers, or other tradespeople with basic tasks.

- Hold materials, tools, or equipment for more experienced workers as needed.

4. Construction and Maintenance Support:

- Assist in construction tasks, such as digging trenches, mixing cement, and pouring concrete.

- Perform general maintenance tasks, such as painting, cleaning, or repairing equipment.

5. Safety Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and protocols on job sites.

- Wear necessary protective gear (e.g., gloves, helmets, safety glasses).

- Report safety hazards or concerns to supervisors.

6. General Physical Labor:

- Perform repetitive physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
