DescriptionGENERAL STATEMENT OF JOBThis is a stand-alone position located in the Information Technology - Infrastructure series. Incumbents administer assigned infrastructure hardware and/or software such as networks or servers. Responsibilities may include overseeing the cybersecurity resources and tools; responsible for the configuration and management of network-wide intrusion detection and prevention solutions; coordinates with 24/7 network and log-file monitoring firm to ensure consistent and persistent oversight over the City's IT infrastructure and ensures all systems' logs are being monitored; and administers end-user security-related software such as Website Filtering, Email Filtering, and Endpoint Protection software.PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN THROUGH AUGUST 29, 2024, OR UNTIL FILLED.Example of DutiesSPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Functions:
Administers the Vulnerability Management Software to ensure that necessary patches are being identified and applied in a timely manner.
Administers the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) software and coordinates with the provider's 24/7 monitoring team to ensure adequate oversight is in place.
Conducting risk assessments and audits to identify compliance issues.
Ensures the network security posture adheres to industry-standard best practices, including identifying and recommending improvements for network security measures.
Assists in overseeing security settings and policies across the IT infrastructure and core operational systems, ensuring all environments maintain security integrity and adhere to best practices.
Monitor networks and systems for suspicious activity.
Analyze security threats and risks.
Responsible for city-wide Cybersecurity Awareness training by using simulated phishing email campaigns, training modules, and all employee training courses to help educate employees.
Recommends and monitors a project budget, which may include preparing cost estimates for budget recommendations, submitting justifications for budget items, and monitoring project expenditures.
Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
Creates and implements security controls, policies, and procedures.
Provides backup assistance to other IT team members in all areas of installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the network and end-user systems
Participates in after-hours on-call rotation.
Performs other related work as required.
Typical QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAININGEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Three (3) years experience with infrastructure equipment and software in the area of responsibility.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience suffcient to perform the job's essential duties.
License and Certifications
CISSP, CISA, CompTIA Security+, or other applicable certifications preferred.
CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems) certification required within six (6) months of employment.
A valid drivers license.

Physical Requirements:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, workspace restrictions, being on call on a rotational basis, and travel.
