The CCTV Operator is responsible for operating closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspection equipment to assess the condition of underground utility pipelines, including stormwater, sanitary sewer, and water systems. The operator documents inspection findings, identifies defects or blockages, and ensures accurate reporting to support maintenance and rehabilitation planning.
Key Responsibilities
Operate robotic and push camera systems to inspect underground pipelines and conduits.
Identify and document pipe defects, infiltration, root intrusion, offsets, and other anomalies.
Record video footage and still images for condition assessment and client reporting.
Maintain detailed inspection logs and generate reports using industry-standard software (e.g., WinCan, GraniteNet, POSM).
Assist in cleaning and preparation of lines prior to inspection, as needed.
Calibrate, clean, and maintain CCTV inspection equipment and associated tools.
Follow safety procedures for confined spaces, traffic control, and hazardous environments.
Coordinate with field crews, supervisors, and engineers to ensure accurate data collection.
Comply with company policies, NASSCO PACP standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade certification preferred.
1–3 years of experience in underground utility inspection or a related field.
Familiarity with CCTV inspection systems (e.g., CUES, Envirosight, IBAK, or Pearpoint).
Knowledge of underground infrastructure and utility construction practices.
Strong computer and data entry skills; experience with inspection reporting software preferred.
Valid driver’s license (CDL Class B preferred).
NASSCO PACP certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
OSHA 10/30 and Confined Space Entry certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
Comfortable working around traffic and construction sites.
May require occasional overtime, night, or weekend work.
