Position: Self employed dog groomer
Job Type: Part-time (up to 36-40 hours per week)
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Tuesday to Saturday. Some flexibility is available for choosing hours and days.
Job Description:
We're currently exploring the skills and qualities of 5-7 dog groomers to discover the ideal match for our salon. At Ann’s Pet Salon, we appreciate dedication, integrity, reliability, efficiency, and excellence in our team members.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in being reliable, punctual, and dedicated to delivering high-quality grooming services and can enjoy each day and challenge with a smile on their face. Must be willing to learn, grow, and teach.

This is an environment where you will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy dogs, bend down, and, if necessary, restrain dogs. Our commitment is to ensure the comfort of our furry friends, which may involve being on the floor to better assist the dog in question. If you have significant health issues that hinder movement, this may not be the ideal job for you.
You will be a 1099 employee and will follow the pricing of the shop.
Payments: You will receive a fixed payment from the client for each dog you groom.
Following Shop Prices: The prices for grooming services are determined by the shop and are non-negotiable.
Commission: A 50% commission-split will be paid to the shop owner from the revenue generated by grooming services. Tips not included in this 50%.
Job Requirements:
- A High School diploma is a minimum requirement for this position.
- Minimum 1 years experience grooming in a salon
- Must have your own supplies (i.e. clippers, blades, shears)
- Must be able to groom a small breed dog in an average time of an hour and a half
- Demonstrate compassion and gentleness towards both animals AND people.
- Strong customer service skills are essential for this role
- Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential qualities for this role.
- Physical strength requirement: Capable of lifting a maximum of 75 lbs for handling larger dogs.

Job Duties:
- Communicate with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and address any concerns
- Maintain knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements.
- Perform grooming services on dogs.
- Bathe, brush, and trim pets' fur to meet client specifications.
- Clean and maintain grooming tools and equipment
- Provide basic health checks, such as checking for fleas or skin conditions
- Handle and restrain animals in a safe and compassionate manner
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area
- Help maintain a clean and organized shop
