Main Responsibilities
Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Be responsible for overall integrity and reliability of control systems throughout the plant
Be responsible for supporting, creating, integration, troubleshooting and improving a variety of processing and packaging control systems including Wonderware, Rockwell, PLC's
Read and update electrical and control schematics, and instrumentation diagrams
Design and troubleshoot a range of electrical and instrumentation systems
Provide technical support/skills for equipment troubleshooting and controls/equipment modifications
Work with engineering and maintenance teams to modify control systems to improve operations
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
Understand and apply food system design and comply with Unilever guidelines for food safety
Assist with training new employees as needed
Attend meetings and trainings as required
Cover day and night shift vacation schedules
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in Controls Programming and Industrial Controls Technology or equivalent education in a related field, preferably 2 or more years
Proficiency in PC operating skills (Microsoft software applications)
Experience calibrating and interfacing with analog transmitters, VFD's, load cell systems, etc.
Experience with AB PLC platforms (programming, configuring, etc.)
Experience with Servo Controls
Experience with Robotic Control Systems
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to lift, move, push, pull 35 lbs.
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time, including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends, daily overtime and overtime outside your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week)
Must be able to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
Must be able to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personal lifts, or platforms
Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves when required
Work in confined spaces such as bins, silos or tanks
Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Technical degree in process controls, electrical engineering technology or related field
Continuing education/training in controls
Computer Maintenance Management System experience
Boiler, refrigeration or electrical license are a plus.
Demonstrated leadership ability.

REASONING ABILITY:Requires the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. MANUAL DEXTERITY:Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. There are occasional requirements to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools and controls and reach with hands and arms. Must have average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be physically able to climb on ladders and portable stairways. Must be physically able to use wrenches and other tools in performing minor maintenance functions. Constant standing and/or walking on concrete floors are required. Must be able to use body members to work, move, lift, slide, push or carry heavy objects or materials. Must be able to lift up to 50-pound bags of powder. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for active work. PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION:Must have the ability to talk (expressing and/or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words) and/or hear (perceiving sounds of nature by ear.) Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and color vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Noise levels may exceed 80 decibels and hearing protection must be worn. Work is performed throughout the facility. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time.
