Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description The Quality Engineer ensures that the divisions’ and customers’ quality requirements are met on assigned products, programs, areas, and functions. Participate in the review of all design, manufacturing, test, and supplier documentation to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled, including a review of design drawings and changes, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses. Support the operations group to which you are assigned, providing visual aids and inspection analyses to assist the inspection process, and serve as “referee” in making “accept” or “reject” decisions. Support the Design Engineering group on engineering hardware, the Customer Service Department on the analysis of hardware returned from the field, and the Purchasing Group for procurements. Review quality trends associated with your assigned product or program and participate in the generation and implementation of defect-reduction programs. Assist in identifying the root causes of problems and instituting corrective actions, as well as verifying effectiveness. Participate directly in Material Review Board actions. Interact with representatives from a variety of functional groups, including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, the program office, and all production and inspection personnel in the assigned product or program area, as well as others within the Product Assurance Department. May interact with customer and supplier representatives on quality issues. Ensure that all aspects are in full compliance with the quality system in place at the operation at all times. Ensure that product quality is attained in the assigned product group or program through fulfillment of workmanship standards and quality program requirements. Identify and report quality problems or trends in the assigned area or product. Recommend or implement the appropriate corrective action to quality problems in the assigned area, with the aid of manufacturing engineering, design engineering, purchasing, etc. Ensure there are no interruptions or errors due to lack of giving or seeking information by fully informing the Group Leader of all events affecting plant operations.Hard Skills
