What you’ll do as a Mechanic

Examines vehicle and determines with manager repair and/or service needed

Determine nature and extent of damage or malfunction

Upon determination order parts

Plans work procedure

Transport vehicles, as needed

Raises vehicle, with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle

Ability to diagnose & inspect various types of equipment

Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear

Repairs or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings

Overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps

Rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks

Rewires ignition system, lights, and instrument panel

Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front end, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiator

Mends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts

Replaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers

What you’ll need

You are at least 18 years old

You are authorized to work in the United States for this company

You are able to maintain a safe work environment

You are experienced as a mechanic

You are able to proficiently use tools and identify repair needs

You may have experience with work set up

You may able to read and understand orders, safety rules and operating instructions

You may have previous construction or utility construction experience

Additional qualifications (if applicable)

You have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License

You have an MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company

You are able to work in all weather conditions

You are able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call

Physical abilities & exposures

Routinely: W ork alone in remote locations and in confined spaces with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed. May be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens

Occasionally: Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces. long driving and sitting maybe required.

Salary Range $18.00 to $27.00 / hr (based on experience)
