Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team at a locally owned business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in food preparation and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. As a Prep Cook, you will assist in meal preparation, maintain food safety standards, and contribute to the overall success of our catering and restaurant operations. Growth potential!
Duties
Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items.
Assist chefs in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation for catering events and restaurant service.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
Support the team during busy service periods by assisting with plating and serving as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in catering, food preparation, or a similar role- Required
Loves to cook!
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
