Restaurant Handyman – Job Description
Overview
We are a busy, family‑owned restaurant seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman to help keep our building, equipment, and property in excellent working condition. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and taking pride in keeping a business running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on restaurant equipment, fixtures, and building systems
Troubleshoot minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues
Repair or replace flooring, tiles, drywall, doors, and basic carpentry needs
Maintain kitchen equipment (non‑specialized tasks such as tightening, cleaning, adjusting)
Handle small painting, patching, and cosmetic improvements
Inspect the property regularly to identify issues before they become problems
Assist with outdoor tasks such as pressure washing, minor landscaping, and trash area upkeep
Respond promptly to urgent repair needs to minimize downtime
Work safely and follow all health and safety guidelines
Communicate clearly with management about needed repairs, materials, and timelines
Qualifications
Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or similar role
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
Ability to use standard tools and equipment safely
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks
Restaurant or commercial maintenance experience is a plus but not required
Work Schedule
Flexible hours; part‑time available
Occasional weekend or early‑morning work depending on repair needs
