The Inventory Sales Position includes: daily industrial sales activities , calling on existing customer base, managing inventory for clients, order placements, stocking shelves, and general customer service functions. Must have reliable transportation, products knowledge of ( M.R.O. Supplies) abrasives, tools, and safety is a plus. General computer skills required.
Primary Purpose
This position is responsible for reconciling purchase orders, expediting stock outs, order placement, inventory deliveries and supporting the Inventory Managers using various system-generated reports including the past due report. Responsible for resolving vendor-related problems regarding specifications, timing, quality, quantity, and delivery.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for an assigned group of customers, meets/exceeds customer satisfaction and target objectives.
Confers frequently with carriers, suppliers and facilities via email, phone and fax to obtain status of orders, and follows through until product is on shelf and ready for sale.
Collaborates with customers, suppliers, carriers and facilities to ensure the inventory position integrity
Manages receipt variance process, initiates continual improvement. Participates on conference calls withcustomers as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook/Email, Excel (intermediate level), speed and accuracy with the keyboard.
Ability to set priorities that meet ever changing needs of the business; can multi task in a fast paced, challenging environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interface with all levels of management.
Basic understanding of office administrative procedures and etiquette.
Excellent communication skills (Verbal / Writing).
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must have drivers license to drive between customers
Minimum of one year of general work/business experience required.
Three years of experience in multi-facility, wholesale, or distribution environment preferred.
