Purpose:
Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned John Deere lawn and agricultural equipment and merchandise. Requires a moderate level of supervision and continued training.
Responsibilities:
Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on various equipment and merchandise
Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
May perform prep work for large service jobs
May perform on-site service of Turf equipment
Maintains current knowledge of all equipment and competitive products
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Completes all forms and reports in conjunction with job assignments
Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
Actively develops skills and knowledge for advancement for progression to a higher level of work
Actively embraces all forms of technology applicable to performing the job
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
Proficient understanding of engines, hydraulics, power transmissions, and electrical systems for related equipment and merchandise
1 to 3 years of related experience performing service repairs
Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to lift at least 75 pounds repeatedly
Valid drivers license
Forklift experience preferred
