Job Summary:
The Woodworking Shop Lead is responsible for leading a team of craftspersons to successfully produce and install high quality, custom casework, architectural millwork, furniture and displays.Â
Responsibilities:Â
Lead the execution and installation of all woodwork
Ensure quality workmanship consistent with best practices and quality requirements
Communicate and update project details to team members as necessary
Facilitate training and professional development for the members of your team
Assist Designers in the development of shop drawings
Coordinate with Project Managers the purchasing of project material and hardware
Maintain woodworking tools and consumables inventory
Maintain a high standard of excellence and professionalism
Skills Required:
High proficiency in cabinetmaking including Euro-style and face-frame construction
High proficiency in solid wood and veneered furniture construction
Experience with spray finishing
Ability to read blueprints / shop drawings
Knowledge of woodworking tool operation and maintenance including edge bander, wide belt sander, saws, routers, shapers and veneer press
CAD and / or SketchUp skills are a plus
Experience programming and running a CNC router is also a plus
Capable of managing a team of craftspersons to meet deadlines and ensure quality
