Summary The Director of Faith Integration and Service is responsible for fostering a vibrant, inclusive environment that promotes spiritual development and integrates faith and learning across the university community. This role involves developing and overseeing programs that promote spiritual growth, service learning, and community engagement, aligning with the university's mission and values. The director is responsible for promoting a culture of global awareness and inclusion and for working with faculty and staff to integrate faith into the curriculum. Leads and develops pastoral care activities in support of students, faculty and staff. Serves as a liaison with BMHC Pastoral Care and Community Service to promote a collaborative relationship. Under the general direction of the President. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday. The person in this position will serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). A CSA has significant responsibility for student and campus activities and is designated as an individual to whom students and employees should report criminal offenses. It is the responsibility of the CSA to report to the Security Office all allegations of crimes when it does not violate confidentiality of student or employee. Responsibilities
Develops, directs and implements a vision of spiritual development and programming that supports the University Mission.
Organizes and leads service-learning programs, community outreach initiatives, and mission trips across local, regional and global communities that reflect the university's commitment to Christian service.
Collaborates with faculty and staff to create and support faith-based initiatives and curricular integration.
Provides pastoral care and leadership to meet the spiritual needs of students, faculty, and staff.
Directs the overall Office of Faith and Service by being responsible for all the policies, personnel, budget and operations.
Promotes positive relationships and communication with faith groups, organizations and with departments within BMHC.
Works closely with university leadership, academic departments, and student organizations to promote and support faith-based initiatives.
Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Theology, Ministry, Education, Social Work, or a related field; or demonstration of equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Christian ministry, higher education, or related field with a demonstrated record of leadership in faith integration and service.
An understanding and respect of different cultures and faith traditions.
Desired Qualifications
Doctorate in Theology, Ministry, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
Strong understanding of Christian theology and its application in higher education and experience in teaching.
