What’s a typical day as an Material Handler? You’ll be:
Conduct all work in a safe and effective manner, taking appropriate action to correct any unsafe acts, systems, or procedures.
Utilize forklifts, reach trucks, dock stockers, and/or order pickers to examine, pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and process items for storage and/or shipment.
Maintain inventory accuracy by verifying quantity, lot number, and product name.
Load and unload trucks as needed using forklifts or pallet jacks.
Wrap, weigh, and prepare shipments on skids/pallets.
Willingness to cross-train and work in multiple areas of the warehouse as needed.
Handle fragile products with care, removing damaged items as necessary.
Participate in Continuous Improvement – PPI (Practical Process Improvement) events by entering JDIs (Just Do Its) and performing Gemba walks.
Follow quality protocols and comply with Warehouse and Good Distribution policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Learn, adapt, and train on new concepts and processes.
Process cold chain products as required, including working in a -20 freezer and 2-8 cooler
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience.
Minimum of 1 year of forklift equipment experience.
Proficient in utilizing forklifts, reach trucks, dock stockers, and/or order pickers.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain inventory accuracy.
Familiarity with safety protocols and guidelines in a warehouse environment.
