POSITION TITLE : Youth Action Center Training CoordinatorREPORTS TO : BRIDGES YAC DirectorFLSA STANDARD : Exempt, Full-time Project-based, TemporaryDATE : Two-year Term (August 2024 - July 2026)PAY RANGE : $45,000-$48,000 (Based on Experience)POSITION SUMMARYThe BRIDGES Youth Action Center (YAC) provides Memphis youth with a variety of leadership opportunities for community transformation in a wide range of fellowships and internships, including but not limited to local government, social entrepreneurship, media, healthcare, and philanthropy. This position will support the overall goals of youth activation, building community awareness, and customized leadership experiences for YAC partners through training workshops, projects, and the formation of local youth councils and / or advisory boards.The YAC Training Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of various training methods, including e-learning supported by the BRIDGES Youth Action Center team. This position will coordinate multiple training events, facilitate sessions for partner organizations, and have experience holding intergenerational spaces where youth and adults work collaboratively and share decision-making power. The Training Coordinator will work collaboratively with multiple teams, bringing a general understanding of equity, social justice, and the importance of setting the foundation for youth to fully engage in various systems to create authentic and inclusive community transformation. This position is full-time, temporary, project-based, and continued employment beyond the two-year mark depends on the availability of funding.BRIDGES strives for a workplace that is diverse and inclusive. We encourage qualified individuals of all backgrounds to apply, including people of color, immigrants, refugees, women, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and veterans.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSFacilitate YAC spaces with youth and adult equity and authentic partnership centered in all facilitation.Develop, coordinate, and facilitate training modules and support partners in building and sustaining youth and adult partnerships.Coordinate regular meetings with the YAC Facilitation Team to ensure that all facilitators are prepped and ready to facilitate YAC curricula.Plan and execute project-specific partnership training for youth and adults.Meet regularly with the YAC Team and the YAC Director to provide updates and project collaboration.Attend periodic project partner meetings and youth engagement meetings.Strive to maintain an atmosphere among staff, volunteers, service members, and youth participants that is consistent with BRIDGES core values, and report any behavior issues of staff or students to a supervisor promptly.Work collaboratively with Bridge Builders staff as needed to achieve program outcomes.Maintain accurate records of participants' attendance and complete required tracking of weekly participation for timesheets and other data.Maintain protocols for the Youth Action Center general partnership oversight and engagement.Participate in BRIDGES activities, events, and fundraising efforts as needed.Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Director of the Youth Action Center, the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, or the President of BRIDGESMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAssociate degree from an accredited college or university; in place of an associate degree, two to three years of directly related experience.Experience coordinating and leading trainings, monitoring, and evaluating youth development, advocacy, and / or organizing social impact programsThree years of project or program management experience.Experience facilitating meetings and / or training sessions.Good understanding of experiential education, adventure-based education, and / or adolescent development.Must be highly proficient in using MS Office and Google Suites applications; some experience with project management software.Ability to analyze and organize information to ensure validity and reliability of evaluation across multiple forms; strong presentation skills.Must have effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsThis position may require some mandatory travel (out-of-state) and work on weekends and evenings.Must have personal transportation to local trainings with community partners, etc.Ability to be self-managed, taking initiative and acting independently in completing performance assessment evaluations consistent with standard practices and policies and our commitment to students.Represent BRIDGES at events, conferences, meetings, public forums, etc. that may require speaking to the groups on behalf of BRIDGES.Must possess a valid driver's license and show proof of liability insurance coverage as required by the laws of the State of Tennessee and as outlined in the BRIDGES Employee Handbook.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree or relative experience in education, youth development and advocacy, equity, and inclusion-related fields.Proficiency in project coordination with the use of Salesforce and Asana project management software.Two or three years of nonprofit experience.REQUIRED BEHAVIORS AND CHARACTERISTICSMust possess a genuine interest, knowledge, and passion for working with diverse youth and adults.Commitment to youth-led social change and conviction that as leaders' youth can contribute meaningfully to their community.Self-managed, detail-oriented, and acts independently consistent within BRIDGES' standard practices and policies and commitment to students.Take initiative and multi-task while maintaining high-quality accountability measurements and documentation of all project / program activities.Lifelong learner who seeks to expand their base of knowledge.Strength in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with BRIDGES participants, parents, staff, volunteers, service members, community partners, and other shared-interest partners.Ability to be flexible and problem-solve in high-stress situationsStrive to maintain an atmosphere among staff, volunteers, service members, and youth participants consistent with BRIDGES core values.Strive to maintain an atmosphere among staff, volunteers, service members, and youth participants that is consistent with BRIDGES core values, and report any behavior issues of staff or students to a supervisor promptly.WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed under the general supervision of the Director of the Youth Action Center.The BRIDGES Center is open Monday-Friday from 9 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm. General operation hours for youth-specific collaborative work are generally Mondays and Thursdays from 4 : 00 pm - 8 : 00 pm.
