Our company is looking for a reliable experienced Intermodal Dispatcher to join our busy and growing terminal in the Memphis,
area. Someone who goes the extra mile to take care of our customers, who creates solutions to challenges in the transportation
industry, and someone with value and integrity.
Manage drivers on a daily basis performing intermodal loads with 300-mile radius and local freight.
Direct daily activities of our Drivers dispatching daily to handle the loads
Hold drivers accountable and offer support for completing daily tasks efficiently
Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have
Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
Maintain the integrity of the company and our customers while updating delivery status and delivering customer orders on time
Communicate situations that arise to the customer when a delivery time cannot be met, or a significant problem develops during the course of a run. Explain how the situation is being resolved to the customer. Immediately report the situation to the manager.
Respond to service failures and immediately report them to the manager.
Track and monitor equipment status to ensure pick-up and delivery standards are met
Enter order information directly into company software program accurately and on a timely basis
Review and correct any incorrect information in the system in each order.
Identify and address staff training and coaching needs for the drivers and report these needs to management.
Perform other duties as requested
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years recent intermodal dispatch experience preferred
Ability to work well in a high pressure, fast-paced, daily environment with tight deadlines.
Knowledge of current DOT and hours of service rules.
Must be familiar with rail operations.
Excellent communication, relationship building and networking skills
Must have the ability to prioritize, take initiative, and achieve results.
Flexible and available after hours for driver support.
Skills.
Computer skills are critical and must include Excel, Word, and Outlook
Honesty, integrity, and reliability are of the utmost priority.
Must be motivated and able to successfully complete tasks with minimal supervision
Work well with others in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
Excellent attendance history is a must
Punctuality is a must
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting is a must
