Mechanic/ race car tech(Midtown Memphis)
We do nothing at our shop but build road race Mazda Miatas. You will need your own tools, you must be responsible, attention to detail is a must. You will be expected to be here daily M-F 8-5, you must be here on time. We also go out of town on races about 1 weekend a month on average during the summer. This is a non smoking facility. Looking to hire immediatley and have positions for two people.
This is what we do, you would be expected to do these things or at least most of them. There is nothing complicated, but all must be done thoroughly with no mistakes.
Strip the car down to a bare shell and then reassemble completely to a running car including but not limited to all the things below:
Disassemble/ assemble suspensions
r/r dash and wires
r/r motor
r/r trans
r/r clutch
r/r rear differentials
r/r axles
r/r cylinder heads
press in bushings and bearings
understanding of alignment is a plus
r/r door, fender and other body panels
install gauges and run the wiring for the said gauges
We only work on one car, so all of these skills can be learned and fine tuned easily,but if you are looking to just punch a time card and collect a check, this is not the place. We need a motivated and conscientiousness individual. Attention to detail is a must.
