Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of upholstery experience in production of upper-end upholstered furniture, reupholstery, boat seats, restaurant stools/booths, and similar experience.
- The associate needs to be able to pay attention to detail, can work with their hands, and have experience in reading and understanding production tickets
- Excellent time-management skills including ability to work independently with little supervision
- Review these physical requirements, as they play a major part in this role:
Ability to sit or stand for 8-10 hour periods and bend and twist at waist and knees as required to upholster furniture and the ability to frequently lift frames weighing 50 -60lbs.
Responsibilities:
- The operator will upholsterer fabric, fiber, and all necessary components to upholster furniture per the specifications at a pace sufficient to achieve stated productivity requirements.
- Ability to mentor and teach junior upholstery technicians and teach them the 'tricks of the trade'.
- Run an efficient, safe, and well-functioning upholstery shop.
- Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits to the workforce and adhere to the standards of the company throughout the facility.
- The selected candidate will lead the other people in the shop and upholster pieces of furniture that meets the expected quality requirements of our clients at a sufficient pace to meet or exceed the stated productivity requirements/schedule.
