9/11/2019Job DescriptionWorks independently under general supervision; performs a variety of routine and specialized functions; performs preventive, routine, and systems maintenance; develops or maintains skills in welding, millwright and machine repair.Assists other Maintenance personnel in performing various repairs, replacements, and/or modifications of plant equipment and buildings.Diagnosis complex machine and system problems.Reads blueprints, diagrams, schematics (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.) with a high degree of skill.Maintains a good selection of hand tools and some special tools as needed.Understands and can apply basic mathematics on a level to perform nominal shop measurements and functions.May attend to routine functions including but not limited to:Chilled water and hot water systems monitoring, chemical level adjustments.Changes lubricants in gear boxes, compressors, etc.Fire protection checks and tests.Compressed Air System checks.Services batteries and other function on lift trucks.Maintains on-hand lubricant/chemical levels.Attends training functions, possibly including after-work study.Analyzes situations when unusual conditions (excessive wear, pending failures, etc.) are noted during performance of duties. Reports these to Plant engineering and suggests corrective measures.Works closely with Maintenance Facilitator to ensure that assigned preventive Maintenance work requests are performed and returned in a timely manner. Suggests changes and updates on existing PM items.Helps maintain a clean working environment, including clean-up work in shop, other areas, and plant trash disposal duty as assigned.
Qualifications
One year prior maintenance experience in an industrial setting
Read & comprehend written and verbal instructions
