DescriptionWant to help Earth’s most customer-centric company design, implement, and monitor risk intelligence, to improve the customer experience and protect Amazon’s brand?In this role, you will work closely with Amazon's global transportation businesses to build risk intelligence initiatives, reports, and frameworks that support carrier partners in meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices, driver / provider eligibility, and safety standards. You will proactively analyze new risk areas, identifying key risk indicators, and adapting to a dynamic risk landscape, while enabling business success. You must clearly, and concisely, distill complex information to communicate actionable risk information and intelligence to senior leadership, and will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to design and manage ongoing workflows and models. You will set program objectives, evaluate, and assign metrics that measure success, and drive business changes that reduce risk. You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, legal, tech, and field operations teams to monitor risk and implement world-class, customer-centric, compliance and risk management solutions.Key job responsibilities

Conduct in-depth research and analysis of potential risks to Amazon's global transportation businesses

Collect and analyze data, information, and intelligence from multiple sources – demonstrable proficiency working with data across all facets, whether analyzing data, developing KPIs, or supporting data collection and cleansing – you will help to ensure we appropriately manage/report the most important compliance metrics, and risk outcomes, and drive strong data driven decisions

Design and manage scalable frameworks to drive process deep dives while enabling risk identification and improvements

Conduct reoccurring deep dives on compliance data and emerging risk areas, while connecting the dots with the bigger picture, identifying patterns and trends, and reporting (written and oral) findings to leadership with excellent communication skills

Demonstrable problem-solving skills using data and insights to drive both tactical and strategic business decisions, with a proven ability to lead, monitor, and drive projects through to completion on time

Influence internal/external stakeholders to drive timely and high-quality results with a proven ability to establish successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute both tactical and strategic initiatives

Ability to define, develop, and implement risk programs and drive improvements quantified with metrics

This position requires the ability to travel periodically

A day in the lifeThe Sr. Risk Manager will lead the risk intelligence workstream within their regional area of focus and designated risk/compliance vertical. The individual will: 1) leverage their risk / compliance / data / intelligence expertise to identify, design, implement, and improve risk intelligence frameworks to support compliance and reduce risk, 2) work closely with tech and business partners to document requirements, influence roadmaps and technology decisions, develop, test, and scale risk intelligence programs and frameworks, 3) deep dive compliance hot spots, and emerging risks, present findings/recommendations to leadership, 4) continuously analyze program insights, mechanisms, and effectiveness for improvement opportunitiesAbout the teamTransportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) is the voice of risk and compliance for Amazon’s transportation businesses across 24 countries. We proactively identify and manage risks through mitigation strategies and provide assurance that Amazon and our carrier partners comply with the highest transportation and legal standards (including legislative, regulatory, and contractual). Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship

6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent

Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent

Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

Technical aptitude and familiarity with complex databases and data analytics tools (e.g., experience with Python, QuickSight, SQL, Advanced Excel, Alteryx, etc.) experience with program requirements definition, leveraging data, and metrics to drive improvements

The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
