Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Merch Store Lead at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery is responsible for assisting the Gift Shop Supervisor in executing a world class retail experience. This position will work in collaboration with the Merch Store Supervisor and Merch Store staff to help create and implement processes which support the retail experience. This position will also work closely with other departments including Hospitality, Marketing and Market Representative teams to assist on their individual goals. The Gift Shop Lead will report directly to the Merch Store Supervisor and will work closely on the design, vision, and implementation of shop goals.ResponsibilitiesHave weekly meetings with Gift Shop Supervisor on upcoming programming for the distillery.Assist in onboarding and training of new Gift Shop hires.Assist the Merch Store Supervisor in scheduling when neededPerform monthly inventory with direction from managerMaintain cleanliness and aesthetic of retail shop, including keeping understock and supplies organizedMaintain order in retail area of both on and offsite warehouses.Keep Gift Shop stocked and notify manager of low quantitiesAct as an additional point of contact for guests to answer inquiries.Taking a leading role on special release daysGreet customers as they enter the shop and encourage staff to engage with all guests while in the store.Work with Store Manager to implement sales strategies to meet monthly goals.Minimum Qualifications2-3 years of experience in customer service, retail, or hospitalityStrong leadership qualitiesAttention to detailPreferred QualificationsHigh level of knowledge of NGBD story and products.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentWork Environment: - Works outdoors/indoors - Works in warm/cold climates - Works in high places - Works on wet surfaces - Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals - Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic - Must be able to move up to 55 lbs - Primary office environment is public hospitality spacesMust be at least 21 years of age.
