We are looking for a legal assistant for our fast-paced, busy personal injury department of a small firm located in Lafayette, CA. You will support a case manager and attorneys with mostly prelitigation tasks and some litigation assignments.
Job duties include but are not limited to gathering medical and billing records, maintaining client contact weekly, following up with client's care and treatment, negotiating liens, and perform other supporting tasks for our case manager and attorneys. Therefore, the candidate must have prior personal injury experience, impeccable organization skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, a team player, and be able to communicate well with clients via phone and e-mail.

Ideal candidate will possess the following:
Personal injury experience;
Computer literacy and familiarity/fluency with Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook;
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
Friendly attitude and great phone etiquette;
Well organized and reliable;
Strong oral communication skills; and
Attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Gathering medical and billing records;
Calendaring deadlines;
Managing and organizing case files;
Maintaining regular client contact;
Draft and format documents;
Sorting incoming correspondence; preparing and mailing/emailing/faxing outgoing correspondence;
Performing administrative duties, including photocopying, faxing, and scanning; and
Coordinating with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters.
