We have an immediate need of a linen distribution tech to work inside of Saint Thomas West hospital delivering linen to assigned areas inside of the hospital location. Must have clean background, up to date immunization record to include COVID. Person needs to be able to push/pull linen full linen carts from hallway and stock linen closets in assigned area. Pay is $15 per hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Transporting the linen from the linen room to the designated department, ensuring sufficient stock is maintained.
Perform daily inventory of on hand linen, reorganizing linen shelves daily as necessary.
Building and delivering orders based upon customer request.
Build carts for each department according to the par levels in Linen Master.
Rechecking departments to ensure adequate linen supply until the next scheduled delivery.
Answering the main linen department phone on the weekends and timely delivery for the calls received.
Transportation of the linen carts from the docks to the clean staging areas (tunnel, hallway, and clean linen room).
Building each individual department (linen cart) due to only receiving bulk linen (linen technicians can have up to 20 locations to stock).
Breaking down the excess linen from the department in the clean linen room.
Maintaining a clean linen room, hallway, and tunnel by adhering to the protocols of onsite customer.
Constantly removing empty carts from work area and bringing them to the linen chutes.
Picking up soiled items for Customs like lab coats, baby sacks, birthing sheets, scrubs, etc.
Put away scrub uniforms on the linen room shelves.
Bundling up scrub uniforms by size to fill up scrub machines.
Picking up discards from every floor when the reject linen bag is full.
Daily data entry on Linen Master of all deliveries.
Timely response for stocking linen for their designated areas when calls are made.
Tubing scrubs for hospital personnel.
Entering stocking information on linen helper system.
Cross training in different departments within the hospital.
REQUIREMENTS AND BASIC SKILLS:
Ability to manage heavy loads with or without assistance.
Good phone etiquette, customer service skills.
Must wear appropriate PPE
Must be able to comply with onsite hospital standards such as clean background, up to date immunization record to include COVID, pass drug screen.
Ability to work non-standard hours
Ability to comply with visual standards when processing linen
