Electrical Foreman

Job Summary:

The Commercial Electrical Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing electrical projects on commercial job sites from start to finish. This role includes supervising electrical crews, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local codes and standards. The Foreman will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality electrical installations within established timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

Lead and supervise a team of electricians and apprentices on commercial job sites.

Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that all work is completed to a high standard.

Provide training and mentorship to crew members to enhance their skills and productivity.

Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce all safety protocols and procedures.

Project Management:

Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper execution of electrical installations.

Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to schedule and plan work activities.

Track project progress, manage materials and supplies, and ensure that deadlines are met.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise on-site to minimize project delays.

Quality Control:

Inspect electrical work to ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and standards.

Perform quality checks on all installations and repairs to ensure they meet company and industry standards.

Address any deficiencies or non-compliant work promptly and effectively.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and work performed.

Prepare daily and weekly reports on project status, progress, and any issues encountered.

Communicate regularly with project managers and clients to provide updates and address any concerns.

Client Relations:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on the job site.

Address client concerns and requests promptly and professionally.

Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality work and maintaining a clean and organized job site.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial electrical work.

Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role is required.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent training.

Licensing:

Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license a plus.

OSHA certification is a plus.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and construction documents.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in using electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily on commercial construction sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and physical hazards.

Must be able to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
