Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ironworker/Steel Erector to join our commercial construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel components for various commercial projects. This role requires precision, attention to safety, and the ability to work at heights.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Steel Erection: Assemble and install steel beams, columns, girders, and other structural components according to blueprints and specifications.
Rigging: Safely hoist steel components into place using cranes and other equipment, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
Welding and Bolting: Weld or bolt steel components together, following industry standards and safety regulations.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including welders, crane operators, and project managers, to ensure timely project completion.
Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect completed work for accuracy, stability, and compliance with specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Ironworker/Steel Erector in the commercial construction industry.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an apprenticeship program in ironworking is preferred.
Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30 certification required. Additional certifications in welding or rigging are a plus.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, welding, rigging, and operating relevant equipment. Strong understanding of safety protocols.
Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
