Location: St. Thomas Yacht Club
Position Summary
The Bartender & Server provides exceptional service to yacht club members and guests by preparing and serving beverages, taking food orders, and ensuring a high-quality dining experience. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming environment in line with the club’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
Bartending:
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
Maintain a well-stocked, clean, and organized bar area.
Monitor member and guest alcohol consumption responsibly.
Recommend drink selections.
Serving:
Greet and seat members/guests in a professional and friendly manner.
Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations on food and beverages.
Accurately take and enter orders, ensuring timely delivery of food and drinks.
Provide attentive, personalized service throughout the dining experience.
Clear and reset tables efficiently.
General Duties:
Follow all yacht club service standards and policies.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in compliance with health and safety standards.
Assist with club events, banquets, and private functions as needed.
Handle member/guest concerns with discretion and professionalism.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
Previous bartending and/or serving experience preferred, ideally in a private club, fine dining, or resort environment.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, and food service.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a member-focused attitude.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Must meet the minimum legal age to serve alcohol.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Work in indoor/outdoor environments depending on club functions.
