Speech Language Pathologist needed for multi-disciplinary clinic in Red Hook, St. Thomas starting in January, 2024. Benefits will include a flight to the VI, a housing stipend and an hourly contract rate commiserate with experience.
The speech-language pathologist (SLP) will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate and implement treatment to patients with disorders of articulation, voice, fluency, language, swallowing and cognition for children and adults. He/She will use appropriate diagnostic tools, interpret data and develop treatment plans according to the principles and practices of speech pathology. He/She will adhere to discipline-specific policies and procedures as well as professional/practice standards. The SLP will consistently demonstrate a courteous and compassionate demeanor to all clients and their families.
What You Need to Be Successful:
American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Knowledge of speech/hearing mechanisms, assessment and therapeutic materials, neuroanatomy, physiology , cognition, swallowing, speech and language disorders, diagnostic and therapy materials needed for evaluation. Highly effective interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills required to work with clients, caregivers, therapists and administrative staff to successfully and to document patient progress, quality assurance activities, and other required information.
