Position Summary:

The treatment plan coordinator performs a variety of educational and financial tasks and duties including; calculating fees for treatment, educating patients on individual treatment plan for given diagnosis, implementing financial policies, patient follow-up, and insurance billing and coding.

A treatment plan coordinator performs the following duties:

Handles any patient concerns at the front desk

Answers phone calls

Learns & affects the treatment review process. Discusses the treatment plan with patient and/or patient's legal guardian.

Where applicable, informs patients of their fiscal responsibilities with respect to their particular insurance coverage.

Informs patients of lab work policies and procedures.

Makes appointments (follow-up, new patient or procedures)

Checks out patients

Assists patients with Carecredit applications

Sends letters out to doctors upon doctor's request

Prints daily deposit

Schedules biopsy follow up appointments

Assists with collecting overdue payments from patients

Assists the new patient/scheduling coordinator when necessary

Performs additional duties as assigned by the manager and/or the supervising oral surgeon

Insurance billing and coding

Working Environment:

The treatment plan coordinator must be able to perform the following functions/demands:

the ability to work in a constant, fast paced work environment

typing and computer input

sitting, standing, and walking for short and long periods of time

movement and placement/stacking of supplies

constant verbal communication with patients and other employees associated with a customer service oriented position.

Qualifications:

High school graduate

Experience Microsoft Office Suite 2007 and later

Demonstrates good communication and verbal skills.

1 year minimum experience in collections.

1 year minimum experience in filing medical/dental insurance.

Maintains neat, professional appearance.

Ability to maintain and comply with patient confidentiality on all patient matters.

Demonstrates a friendly and empathic composure in dealing with patients.

Demonstrates reliability, efficiency, flexibility and willingness to perform duties of this position.

Demonstrates ability to handle job stress in an appropriate and professional manner.
