Retail Store Clerk / Ferry Ticket Sales
We are in search of a detail-oriented Retail Store Clerk to ensure a satisfactory shopping experience for all customers. Our ideal candidate has a friendly personality, excellent customer service skills, cash handling experience and the ability to handle customer complaints in a calm and professional manner.
The Retail Store Clerk will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, welcoming and assisting visitors, selling ferry tickets and merchandise using our user-friendly computer POS system, maintaining a clean and organized store, as well as occasionally restocking inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
Assist customers in locating the products they are looking for
Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions
Stock and restock shelves as needed
Maintain a clean and organized store
Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures or policies
Help with inventory management
Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner
Qualifications:
Previous retail experience is preferred but not required
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Basic mathematical skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Pleasant attitude towards dealing with people
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Information:
Environment: Indoor retail store, assisting the ferry service. Open 365 days / year. Requires weekend and holiday work.
Reporting Structure: Reports to Company General Manager.
Wage: $15/hour, 8 hour day. Friday – Monday
Location: St Thomas, USVI. Crown Bay Marina, Subbase Area.
Employment Type: Part-time.
