CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TECHNICIAN:
Immediate Opening for Entry Level and Certified Construction Materials Technicians with ACI and/or NICET qualifications responsible for performing construction observation and materials testing services both in the field and, as needed, in the laboratory.
ï Responsibilities will include the following:
1. Performing various construction materials testing assignments and providing the documentation for tasks that may include concrete, soils, mortar, grout and asphalt.
2. Provide observation and documentation for the installation of reinforcing steel, drilled piers, post-tensioned cable reinforcing, fire-proofing, wood-framing elements, etc.
3. Secure and protect all equipment issued from theft, damage or misuse, especially portable nuclear gauges, if issued.
4. Ensure safe operation and maintenance of company-owned vehicles, if assigned.
5. Submit accurate and complete observation and testing reports in a timely manner.
6. May involve shift work, overnight and/or out of town work
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
ï Qualified candidates will meet the following minimum requirements:
1. Minimum of a High School diploma or GED certification.
2. Present and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times while on the job.
3. Possess a valid Texas Drivers license
4. Meet auto insurability requirements as determined by the company's insurance carrier.
5. Good verbal and writing skill for communication of problems, project status, employee needs, etc.
6. Ability to perform heavy lifting of 45+ pounds.
7. Ability to work independently
8. Willing to pursue certifications, as determined by the company, including ACI Concrete and Aggregate Testing, NICET certification and/or TxDOT asphalt testing certifications.
9. Must be able to pass drug testing including random, post-accident and reasonable cause while employed by the company.
