Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Addison, Texas, United States. This role involves working on the company’s general and project accounting functions, and requires a blend of skills including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.Responsibilities: Assist in the analysis and setup of service calls and job cost projects. Play a role in reviewing and participating in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities including customer billings, vendor invoice processing, aging analysis, reconciliations, and cash flow management. Undertake the preparation and review of monthly sales and use tax filings. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of new customer and vendor setups. Participate in the monthly close process, required reports, and journal entries to create and support processes that meet required company deliverables and deadlines. Evaluate the deferred maintenance revenue account monthly for proper revenue recognition accounting. Assist in analyzing financial reports and variance explanations. Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and employees to resolve issues. Review and record intercompany transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures. Drive effective process improvements and accounting solutions that enhance the company’s standard of excellence. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Working knowledge of General Ledger maintenance Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Prior experience in a similar role is desirable.
