Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic with experience working on semi-trucks and heavy-duty diesel equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical components, and other critical vehicle systems. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on diesel-powered semi-trucks.
Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
Rebuild and replace engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and system faults.
Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, and inspections.
Ensure compliance with company and government safety regulations.
Respond to emergency roadside service calls as needed.
Collaborate with parts department and service advisors for timely repairs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic working on semi-trucks or heavy-duty vehicles.
Technical certification or degree in diesel technology or related field preferred.
Valid CDL (Class A or B) is a plus.
Strong understanding of diesel engines, emissions systems, electrical diagnostics, and hydraulics.
Proficient with diagnostic software and tools (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit DiagnosticLink, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, technical documents, and wiring schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Must own a basic set of mechanic tools.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various conditions.
