The Senior Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, conducts account reconciliations and documents and evaluates current procedures. This position focuses on the areas of general accounting, cash, accounts receivable, accrued expense analysis, and the review and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts. The Senior Staff Accountant also participates in training and mentoring other accounting staff by providing review and oversight functions related to the posting of entries, problem solving, and error correction.
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
At least six months of waste industry experience
Some experience with general accounting
Must have Great Plains accounting software experience
Property tax and property tax rendition experience
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite – i.e. Word, Excel
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to pay attention to detail
Ability to think logically and critically
Must have a professional appearance and demeanor
Must have the ability to work well in a team environment
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Intermediate experience with pivot tables
Multi-company experience
Detailed oriented and strong work ethic
