High-end salon needs fashionable, fun, out-going and professional customer service wizards to work at our front desk and throughout the salon. This is an important role in our company. The position has four main areas of responsibility, each of which is described below;

Appointment Scheduling

Customer Service

Sales Support

Stylist Support

APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING

You will need to learn to effectively schedule appointments. To do this you must be able to describe our services confidently and have a basic understanding of the work being performed by our stylists. You will also need to learn the timing for each service and how to schedule using our salon software.

Additionally, to schedule with the highest chance of customer retention, you will need to learn the capabilities, strengths and personalities of our different stylists and use that knowledge to pair potential customers with the stylists best suited to them.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Customer service at our business is a team sport played by front desk staff, stylists and managers. The customer service provided by our front desk staff does not end with check-in and then resume upon checkout. Front desk staff must be up and moving, visiting every customer in their chair during the appointment to make sure the customer has what they need, to determine if the stylist needs help or timing adjustments, and to offer the customer the opportunity to schedule their next appointment.

SALES SUPPORT

You will be the primary driver of sellingĀ available time slots on our schedule, (appointments), and a secondary driver of selling take home products. Selling in our world means educating the customer and solving their problems. We never hard sell.

You must be able to describe our services in a way that portrays confidence and instills confidence in a prospective customer.

You must be able to explain the benefits and basic usage of our take home products and be able to recommend a product based on a customers description of their needs. Our stylists are the primary drivers of take-home sales, but you will need to be strong in a sales support role when a stylist is not available to answer questions.

STYLIST SUPPORT

Part of your role will be supporting our stylists and the work they do. A great front desk staff is pure gold to a busy stylist. Constant communication with our stylists about appointments, late arrivals, cancellations, add-ons and customer preferences and concerns makes this partnership work. Poor communication with stylists and a reluctance to work as a team make a stylists day much harder and make the customers experience less enjoyable.

THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES ARE ALSO PART OF THE JOB:

Opening or closing the salon (you will be a key holder)

Completing checklists that include minor housekeeping chores (emptying trash, dusting product shelves, etc)

Product price labeling and display

Continual chair check-ins to make sure customers and stylists have what they need

Answering multiple phone lines

Getting customer intake forms completed and entering information into the computer

Monitoring e-mail, text and social media messages for appointment requests and questions

Monitoring and following up on customer feedback

Making bank deposits

Being flexible enough with your schedule that you can swap days to cover vacations and occasional illnesses

Keeping front desk supplies stocked

QUALITIES THAT WILL MAKE YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS POSITION:

Exceptional customer service and communication skills (clear and constant communication is CRITICAL)

Ability to project confidence to customers and potential customers in a pleasant way

A habit of smiling a lot

The ability to discuss problems and concerns honestly with managers and owners

The ability and desire to dress fashionably

We have several customer service positions available at different pay levels depending on previous experience and fit with the job. Pay ranges from $12/hr for entry level to $24/hr. We offer Medical Insurance, Vision, Dental, Paid Time Off and 401K.
