International Montessori House of Children is looking for THREEÂenthusiastic, dependable individuals to fill Assistant Teacher Float positions. Hours for allÂpositionsÂare 9am - 6pm with a one hour break.
The ideal applicant for this position has experience with children ages 18 months to 6 years, is self motivated,Âand capable of creating an engaging, nurturing, and kind environment for our students. Applicants must be comfortable with diapering and potty training, as well as classroom management.ÂClassrooms are traditional Montessori prepared learning environments emphasizing independence, freedom within limits, and discovery.
As an assistant teacher you bring energy, creativity, organization, support and a passion for teaching and learning to the job. All employees work together to create an environment that nurtures and encourages growth. All required tasks are performed according to the policies and procedures of International Montessori House of Children and child care regulatory agencies. You provide a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for our students.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
Passionate about working with children
Ability to build rapport with children
Positive and patient demeanor
Excellent verbal communication skills
Applicants with familiarity of the Montessori pedagogy OR certifications in Montessori are ideal
At least high school diploma is required, additional education or training is ideal. At least ONE YEAR childcare experience in a licensed preschool or child care center is recommended.
