Acres Grove Nature School is an extraordinary place where the needs and growth of the children come first. Our campus is located among the oak trees and tucked into the heart of Round Rock. We are committed to connecting children to nature for the purpose of improving the current Nature Deficit Disorder and instilling the foundation for a strong and positive relationship with learning.
Our lead teachers will be responsible for assisting in developing a curriculum for their classroom. As a lead teacher, you will be working closely with our director on a comprehensive lesson plan that will ensure our students have every opportunity to explore the natural world around them indoors and out. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of Montessori education, possess a love for nature, and be open to incorporating imaginative and creative ideas into the classroom.
Qualifications
Received a certification or have a good understanding of Montessori education for the corresponding age group. Candidate must be willing to complete additional training if needed upon hire
Previous experience in early childhood education
Previous experience with lesson planning
A love for nature and the outdoors
Continuing education as required per licensing
Flexible and adaptable
Well organized
Previous experience teaching at a farm or nature school is a plus
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Background check required per state regulations before first day of work in the classroom
