About Us:
Stress-Free Inspections is a newly established engineering inspection business based in Austin, TX. We specialize in detailed inspections for foundations, framing, drywall, and sheathing & nailing. As we build our reputation in the industry, we are seeking motivated and skilled inspectors to join our team on a contract basis.
Position Overview:
We are currently hiring Independent Building Inspectors to work on an hourly basis as jobs come in. This role is ideal for individuals with flexible schedules and a strong background in building inspections. While the initial volume of work may be modest, we anticipate growth as our client base expands.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of foundations, framing, drywall, and sheathing & nailing.
Ensure compliance with local building codes and standards.
Document inspection findings and provide detailed reports.
Communicate effectively with clients and construction managers.
Maintain the highest standard of professionalism and accuracy.
Performs scheduled assignments between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday –Friday
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address compliance issues, provide guidance on corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Qualifications:
We will consider any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this job.
Proven experience as a building inspector or in a related field.
Ability to operate work-related technology (laptop, tablet, iPhone) and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Bluebeam experience is highly preferred, but not required.
In-depth knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and inspection techniques.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Flexibility to accommodate varying job hours, including regular working hours.
Must have a valid driver's license.
We prefer supplemental additional training in building inspection, structural engineering, or a related field. An Associate's Degree in engineering, architecture, building inspection, or related field, or equivalent ICC certification level is a plus.
Compensation:
Compensation is based on the applicant’s ability to work independently without supervision. Compensation will be based on a percentage of the inspection fee. For example, well qualified applicants will typically be compensated $50 for the average inspection.
Contract position with potential for increased work volume and opportunities for growth.
