Oracle ERP Innovation Labs builds demos and proofs of concept for cloud applications, focusing on financials, projects and procurement.Each project lasts between 4 and 16 weeks and incorporates a custom-built user interface.These user interfaces are either web applications or hybrid mobile applications, built using javascript/typescript, HTML and CSS.Application frameworks are focused on Oracle Jet, but also include some work in W3C web components.This role will focus on iteratively building the user interface from verbal or written use case definitions.We do not usually use wireframes or mockup tools like sketch to design a user interface before we build it the design and construction of the user interface evolves over the iterations of development instead.Design paradigms will often be provided (color schemes, images, icons, etc.) and are usually based on Oracles Redwood design (https://design.oracle.com/index.html).Skills Required in order of importance:

UI:

  • User interaction model design & implementation
  • Javascript & TypeScript
  • HTML, CSS, SCSS
  • Oracle JET (app dev framework: requireJS, knockout, signals)
  • W3C WebComponents
  • JSON
  • REST

Server:

  • Java
  • Object Oriented Programming Experience
  • Fundamental design principles of micro services and scalable applications
  • Understanding of asynchronous programming
  • Experience in test driven development
  • Experience with software project management tool such as maven, gradle and code versioning tools such as GitHub or GitLab
  • Experience working with Oracle Database - JDBC connectivity and basic query scripting
  • Kubernetes
  • Bonus (Optional):
    • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE), Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
    • Experience on cloud service providers like Google, AWS, OpenStack, etc.

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
