You would use your skills and experience to:HydrologistThe level of complexity for the tasks below will vary based on applicants’ minimum qualifications. Complete hydrological reviews of water rights applications using Water Availability Models (WAMs), hydrologic analysis, and statistical procedures in accordance with state statute and rules, policies, and guidelines; and may review accounting plans. (Approximately 50% of time)Develop Geographic Information System (GIS) data for water rights, water rights applications, and WAM maintenance/updates.  Conduct searches, analysis, and prepare maps using GIS tools. (Approximately 15% of time)Communicate/interact with agency staff regarding water rights and water availability modeling.  May attend meetings with the regulated community concerning statutes, rules, policies, and hydrological reviews. Respond to written correspondence through established procedures. (Approximately 15% of time)Perform or participate in special projects as directed, to include routine WAM maintenance/updates, drought reports, and/or reviews of modeling contract deliverables. (Approximately 10% of time)May create materials and provide support in the resolution of contested permit applications by preparing for and attending Commission agenda meetings, alternative dispute resolution, and public hearings before an Administrative Law Judge or the Commission. Attend public meetings. Participate in preparing response to public comment documents. (Approximately 15% of time)
