Produce and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Position Summary:

This position may be filled at either a Substation Electrician II or III level. This position will be a part of the Substation Maintenance group and will report to the Substation Maintenance Supervisor. This position will be working in high voltage substations ranging from 69kV – 345kV. This position will safely assist in the installation, modification, and repairs of Austin Energy’s high voltage substations. This position will be available for scheduled, unscheduled, and call back work. This position will be available for rotational on-call stand by and follow all safety procedures and policies.Note:Top Candidates will need to complete both a written and field level test at the experience level they are hired in at, before their 6 month probation period ends. Failure to pass the test will result in terminationEmployment Application:

Commercial Driver’s License: This position requires a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver License or the ability to acquire one within 90 days of employment. This position is categorized as Essential Personnel with the City of Austin. Essential staff are required to work during emergencies or bad weather if they are scheduled to work and, in some cases, when they are not scheduled. Essential employees ensure the continuance of key operations for the City of Austin.

Work hours may include after hours, holidays, and weekends and may include on-call shifts.

Shifts may change according to departmental needs.

Employee may be required to work additional hours outside of regular work schedule.
