Bartender and Bar Manager Positions

(VFW) Post 8787 is currently seeking to hire 2 bartenders and a bar manager. VFW Post 8787 is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving veterans, military families, and the local community. With a rich history of supporting those who have served our country, we provide a welcoming environment where members and guests can come together to socialize, commemorate, and support each other.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a friendly bartender and bar manager to join our team at the VFW. As a bartender, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our members and guests while ensuring exceptional service at our bar. As a bar manager, you will be responsible for overseeing bar operations and staffing while completing a variety of accounting needs as well as event management coordination.

Shifts may vary but looking to mainly fill the Saturday and Sunday shift and events as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, in accordance with VFW standards and recipes

- Provide excellent customer service to members and guests, taking orders, and engaging in friendly conversation

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies and cleaning glassware

- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines, including responsible alcohol service practices

- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments and issuing receipts

- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for bar supplies as needed

- Collaborate with other staff members and volunteers to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all patrons

Qualifications:

- Previous bartending experience is preferred but we will train the right person.

- Must be knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktail recipes and drink preparation techniques

- Excellent customer service and communication skills

- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

- Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid bartender's license or permit

- Experience working with veterans or in a military environment is a plus

-Membership into the VFW or Auxiliary is preferred but not required.
